What security features do you offer?
Our facilities are protected with automated gates, accessible through individualized codes. The buildings themselves are lit with perimeter lighting and monitored with video cameras, and are outfitted with a sophisticated fire suppression system. The storage units are secured with locks that we have for sale or, if you prefer, you can bring your own lock - in either event, you retain possession of all keys.
Is your facility climate controlled?
Our facilities feature industrial sized heaters throughout the building. This provides protection for contents such as pharmaceutical samples, antique furniture, electronics, or any other items that may be temperature-sensitive.

Do you accept deliveries on behalf of your tenants?
Yes. We know that you are not always available to wait at your storage unit for a delivery. We are not only able to sign for your deliveries, but will have them placed directly into your locker as well (a key on file is required if packages are being delivered to the facility)

How do the leases work?
Our leases run month-to-month. There is a one month minimum initial stay - after that, you are free to stay for as long or as short a period as you require. Prepayments are not required.

Calendar month versus 4-weeks? What's the difference?
We find a monthly schedule to be more fair to the tenant. It's easier to keep track of, as rent is always due on the first of the month, as well as being less expensive. To compare the rates, a unit renting at $80 would cost $960 per year on a calendar month schedule, as opposed to $1,040 on a 4-week schedule - an important consideration for our long-term tenants.

Do you offer insurance?
Yes we do. If you don't have off-site insurance with your home policy, we can offer you a third-party policy at a reasonable rate that will be added to your monthly bill. If you do have your own insurance, this policy is in optional.

Is the facility clean?
Canadian Self Storage takes great pride in offering some of the cleanest storage facilities in the city, contracting out reputable pest control companies to ensure a more protected environment.

Do you sell moving supplies?
Absolutely. Canadian Self Storage offers a full line of locks, boxes, bubble wrap, furniture covers, and any other supplies you might need for your move. You can visit the Boxes and Supplies section of the site for more information.

Do I need a credit card to rent from you?
Not at all. We accept most methods of payment, including cash, personal cheques, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and debit. For your convenience, we also offer the option of leaving a credit card imprint or a series of post-dated cheques, and we'll take care of the payments for you.

How far in advance do I have to book?
Typically, we recommend making a reservation two to four weeks in advance, but if you find yourself needing something right away we are sure to accommodate your belongings.

Do I need to pay first and last?
Not at all. Your initial payment consist of a refundable security deposit and first month's payment plus applicable taxes.
